Monday 5th January

Loss so far - 2 lbs

Discovered late last night (thanks to a crumpled piece of paper in the bottom of R's school bag) that R DOES NOT go back to school today as we thought. No, school starts tomorrow. So R has new plans for the day
1. Have me watch Twilight (teen vamp movie) with her again for the 3rd time (she has seen it about 10 times).
2. She wants to read Twilight to me (we got her the book, which then led on to all 4 of the books, yes she has the whole set and has read them all at least twice - since Christmas)
I need to
1. Find R's PE uniform (thank god for another day off!)
2. Tidy house (is a continuous job)

Neil has gone to work and J has gone to college.

Last night I watched Paul McKenna - I Can Make You Thin. So today is the start of our (Neil and I)
NOT DIETING

P McKenna says (yes I've done all this before)
Eat only when hungry (not when prompted like me by tv adverts - people on tv eating food - boredom - stress - cos it's there - cos I want it etc)
Eat what you want - this one's easy
Eat consciously - (eh?) - well this one mans eat slowly, think about what you are eating
STOP when you are full - I don't always do this. I just eat till it's all gone, clean plate and all that. So we are to leave food on our plate, some food.

I watched the Paul McKenna thing last time it was on. Some of it makes sense. I am inclined to believe the fact that DIETS DON'T WORK and that what we need to do is eat less and move more. Yes, eat what you want but don't make the food choices crap. I think I am going to aim to eat a well balanced diet (NOT DIET) and aim for snacks to be as healthy as can. And then of course there's exercise (of which I do not get nearly enough).

What did R and I do today? Well she woke me up asking "Mum can we have breakfast now, I'm hungry". I mumbled "ok in a minute" then she said "But mum it's quarter to twelve (11.45am), so I thought I'd better get us breakfast!
Later we watched Snow Day on telly (ohhhh I so want deep snow so I can build a snowman). R read Twilight. Then I decided that we could make a cake (always a good standby thing to do).
So from memory we made sponge cake (4 oz flour, 4 oz sugar, 4 oz margarine and one egg.
While it was cooking I decided to check online for a proper recipe. Hmmmm......might have got it wrong. So we made another (8 0z flour, 8 oz sugar, 8oz margarine, 3 eggs and some baking powder.
This is what's left of the 1st cake - it was surprisingly light and yummy. MMmmmmm.....hot sponge cake right out of the oven! Well it is the start of the NON DIET isn't it and we DID leave some on the plate (as we were told to do by Paul McKenna)!
SO, cake number 2 has the addition of some strawberry jam on it (all we had in).
Here is cake no.2 tried and tested right next to the remnents of cake no.1
We thought we'd better leave cake no. 2 for J and Neil.
Here you can see the bannisters so far - BIG job that I have yet to finish.

 Sat 10th January

Went dancing on Wed night for 2 hours and for 2 hours on Friday night! Tried my party dress on today damn thing won't zip up again???????? And I have GOT to get into it for our Christmas Party (work) on 6th February. We have it in a local golf club - fab meal and a disco.
Am still trying to strip the bannisters and spindles. I need a sander. Someone in work lent me their sander but turns out it was a jigsaw - Neil says no I can't cut pretty patterns out of the handrail! Gotta take the jigsaw back and hope they can lend me a sander. I actually would like one of those little mouse sanders and at around £43 is not too bad?
If I had the money I would just replace the whole bannisters and all the skirting boards and door frames and doors to natrual wood. But unfortunately do not have the money and am not a joiner so can't do it myself.
Did 15 minutes on the treadmill today, ok not a lot but better than nothing. OK I admit it, I did have some chocolate cake and wine last night but you got to have the iccasional treat haven't you! After all, on Friday I had chocolate sludge for breakfast and lunch. (Ultralife slim shake). Also did 20 situps today but was trying to watch telly at the same time and it was hurting my neck!

The scales said today that I have lost a lb but I think the fat is moving round my body and is currently just under my boobs and stoping me from doing up my dress.

Oh yeah and I cut my hair cos I was bored so now it is chin length ( like a bob) and I now don't like it and want it longer. And I dyed the ends black which have now turned a lighter black and look brown cos it washed out even though it was a permanent dye.
