R
has MEND today after school. I have the day to myself. I plan on
1. Tidying kitchen/front room
2. Doing my last 4 miles of Walk Away The Pounds as I wanted to get the
10 miles done by today.
3. Reading my book Does My Bum Look Big In This
4. Going to the cinema tonight with J (we want to go and see Fools Gold)
Well
I lost a lb this week.......want to lose more than that, a lb is not enough.
Walked R to school and came home and made myself a milky coffee and am
now on computer, thinking about how I should be tidying kitchen! Though
I did make a start whilst milk was in microwave!
Once
you go on the computer though, you get sidetracked and then a few hours
have gone by!!!!
J
sent me a txt to see if I would meet him in his 'free' lesson for a coffee,
so I walked to Pensby and had a coffee there, which was nice, plus all
this extra walking is good. AND all I had was a filter coffee, nothing
else. How tempting is that, to sit in a coffee shop (that bakes it's own
stuff) and smell all the cakes, pastires and sandwiches. Yummy smell....but
I resisted. J has a sausage roll (I am not keen in these so was not tempted).
Bought myself some yogurt and coconut hair conditioner. I LOVE the smell
of coconut I really do. It reminds me of going on holiday when I was younger.
We went
to MAlta (1984) and I remember taking some coconut sun lotion and it was
SO hot there and SO relacing. Coconut always reminds me of this holiday.
Here
is where we stayed Sundown Court Kappara Malta - I remember how nice it
was. I think I am just longing for a nice getaway 'sunny' holiday!

I remember we had a lovely apartment on the top floor and you could go
up on the roof and sunbath - but mostly we were by the pools. We went
to Gozo and Comino, Silema and Valetta. The following year we went to
Portugal, which was a nice holiday, again hot and sunny and we stayed
in an apartment, in fact me and my sisters had our owm appartment and
mum and dad had an appartment to themselves. I remember it was fun going
to their appartment for an evening meal!
Not
that I am a sun-bather (don't want the sun damage or wrinkles!) but to
have a lovely holiday is somewhere exotic would be lovely. We did enjoy
our France holiday in 2003 and we luckily had a fab 2 weeks of warm weather
and even better I was at my goal weight!!!!! Hopefully we'll get some
half decent weather in Scotland this summer (here's hoping).
J and I went to see Fools
Gold showing at 8pm, it finished at 10.20pm, Neil and R came to collect
us. It was an ok film. I do like going to the cinema and so does J (he
goes fairly often with friends). Neil did not want to see Fools Gold so
J said he'd come with me - J will pretty much watch anything so is good
to go to the cinema with and it's nice, I think it is very important to
do things with your kids no matter how old they are. J can be a laugh
when we are out and I like going shopping with him and going for a coffee
and it's nice being out with just R etc etc.
I also think it's very important that your kids have friends and a good
social life, I am happy that J has lots of good friends (and a nice girl
friend) and he goes out often with friends and has a good time. I worry
a bit sometimes that R does not have a close friend or lots of friends,
though she is always willing to make new friends - she always makes friends
when we are on holiday etc. As a mum all I can do is help as best I can.

Am pleased to say I did my 10
miles this week (with the Walk Away The Pounds dvd and the treadmill and
other walking). I am aiming to do another 10 miles this coming week. |
Tuesday 29th April
No plans. Neil is working late (Chester) and J is at a
friends party (yep another one) - so R and I are chilling out together
tonight. Though we are going to do our one mile walk and I am aiming on
doing half an hour on the treadmill later. Exciting or what.
The
space under the stairs that I have just painted a pale yellow (I love
yellow). Coats and school bags go under here....looks tidier without them
though!
Watched How To Look Good Naked, which I totally enjoy
but it always always makes me feel so sad as all those body hangups that
the women have, I have and some.Ah well.
Have lightened my hair but am not sure how straw like it looks.
R and I did the one mile walk, though R did it a bit reluctantly as she
was tired, but she did it. We are planning on going to the gym tomorrow
after school. |
| Wednesday
30th April 2008
My
hair is much lighter but terribly dry, I know really it needs a good cut.
but I am never happy with it when it gets cut at the hairdressers. 7.45am,
everyone's gone to school/work. Am waiting for my lift to work, just a
half day today. Will get the gym kits ready when I get home, R and I are
planning on catching bus to Prenton after school and doing the gym and
the pool. Also I am doing 2 hours line dancing tonight and somewhere I
will fit in a mile walk (dvd) and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Did not
manage 30 mins on treadmill yesterday but never mind, I did paint under
the stairs (so this is some exercise)
Not
going to gym as feel sick (just a sore sore throat really and feel yuck).
Walked too and from school with R and thought the fresh air would make
me feel better (it didn't). I hate feeling sicky, it's horrid.
R is off school tomorrow as her school is closed for voting. Luckily grandad
is babysitting, though it does mean R will just sit on her butt all day
watching tv/reading. I feel guilty her being stuck in all day doing nothing,
but we are lucky that grandad can 'babysit' , though he is not capable
of doing stuff with her really. I might try and see if he could possibly
walk her to the park, that woulld be great if he could. I am in worl all
day, then she (we) are going to the MEND programme till 6pm, then I have
a meeting just after 7pm in Bebington. R and I will walk home from MEND
- that is at least some exercise for us both.
I
did 2 hours dancing and felt much better, though tired. Change of plan,
Neil is looking after R tomorrow (well in a fashion - he is here working
from home). Means she will definately NOT get to the park, though to be
fair, Neil has to work. I am going to see if I can try to get her to DO
something during the day that acts as exercise - eg go on the treadmill/hula
hoop/dance around the room to high school musical or something. Too late
at night to worry at moment as is 11pm.
Thursday 1st May
Good day in work. R and I went to MEND programme
after work with Derek Mountfield
(Ex Everton Player) and Lyndsey. R had good time
I had a diabetes UK meeting till 9.30pm....very tired.
Me feeling slightly fed up tonight (after like 11 pm)
Am going out with several (7) work colleagues tomorrow night to 107 Dining
Room Heswall for a meal and am looking forward to this. No plans other
then gym for the weekend. |
Friday 2nd
May
Work was fine today. Went out for a meal
in the evening with 6 people from work, it was really nice and relaxing.
R and I are going to the gym tomorrow and we will go in the pool too.
I am glad we have gone back to the gym as we both enjoy it. Must make
some time to go alone also, that way I can also go in the hydrotherapy
pool (as kids not alowed in there). I tend to spend longer on the treadmill
when R is not with me. The treadmill is the only one not by the kids area.
In the family zone, R and I go on the rowering machines, the cross trainer
and the bikes and sometimes the stepper. The resistence machines for the
kids are my size too so I can go on them with her.
Am
thinking about doing the Wirral walk (15 mile walk) and trying to get
R to do it with me. It is on 18th May I think. J has done it several times,
he did it last year too with some of his mates. Wonder if he'll do it
too with us?
Sat 3rd May
R and I
went to the gym, we did 30 minutes cardio (cross trainer, rower and bike)
then we went on the resistence machines then we went in the pool for almost
2 hours. I am not a very good swimmer and managed to do 5 widths (one
day I might be able to manage lengths!)
We ran J and his friend
Dan to a friends house, they are there for an overnight 18th birthday
party, then Neil, R and I went to Parkgate. 1st we had evening meal at
the Old Quay pub, very nice carvery and a light dessert. The we walked
from one end of Parkgate to the other and back again. The weather was
quite mild. R and I walked on the little wall that runs along Parkgate
We called at Blockbuster
and rented St Trinians and I Am Legend. R and I are going to sleep in
mum and dads to morrow night and we will take St Trinians along and watch
it there. R and I are going to the pool in the morning though for an hour
first.
I Am Legend was ok, but not exactly
a feel good movie. We shared 2 bottles of wine and after the Will Smith
movie we watched a few episodes of Coupling series 4 - this makes me laugh
SO SO much!!!!!!!!! |
