Monday 7th April

Weight- 10 st 11 lbs (151 lbs)
Loss/Gain- Stayed same
Lbs to lose- 30+

Yep another day to step on the scales. Does it matter? Yes a little, I WOULD like to lose some lbs....just 30 or so would be fine. Not too may to lose is it, should be easy shouldn't it?
By the way Neil lost 2 lbs this week, which is good, takes him back to where he was, but good all the same.
Stayed the same (there's a surprise!). Ok, it's not going to ruin my day. Sun is shining, kids are back to school. Am aiming on doing an hour on the treadmill later (yes really!!!!!). Have to walk to get R from school at end of day then we have to walk to the high school for the MEND programme (all good exercise). R has swimming with school today also.Look wot I did cos I was bored!!!!!
Am currently doing a food diary (same old thing) but what the heck, it keeps me amused (or not!)
J didn't go to school till after lunch as he wasn't feeling too good (his ribs still hurting, now he's got a cough). Didn't do much in afternoon cept get R's stuff ready for MEND and snooze - how lazy am I.

R and I walked to the mend programme place (nearby school), it was a nice walk cos it was sunny, if a little cold We meant to walk home but got a lift (yes we should hae walked). The first session was weighing/height and a step test. My height is 4 ft 10 and a half inches!!!!!! I did not do the step test, just R. I think I might do the step test at home though, it's just going up and down on a step at a steady pace for 3 minutes. R got some t-shirts MEND and a folder. I think she will enjoy doing this for 10 weeks, as shall I. It's a pity that we could not get Neil coming along, though he does not finish work in time.

Have not been on the treadmill yet...and I DO aim to, I want to do an hour, I will get R to do half an hour also if I can.
I did 15 minutes on treadmill at 7pm, R went out on the trampoline. Not enough but better than nothing. Ate badly in the evening, now feel sick actually.

Tue 8th April

This 10 week MEND programme that R is attending I see as a change of habits for me and Neil and J hopefully. I am hoping that Neil might take more of an interest when we come back from the meetings and that we as a family help R and all of us get healthier. Unfortunately Neils attitude is not so good about the programme at the moment - he seems to think it's a waste of time. Which pisses me off.

Time to go to work in about 10 minutes, it's 7.50am. Neil has gone to drop R off at the school breakfast club and J has walked to school (he prefers walking to getting lifts), then Neil is off to work. I will be home at 5pm (Grandad gets R from school after Drama club today).

Thank you to Jay for your comments, that was nice and I do agree. R and I are going to go to the MEND programme and it will be great for her (and me, if not Neil and J). We go twice a week and I think it will be great for R.

Just got to try and make something healthy for evening meal. I hid some kit-kats but the kids found them (HOW?) - damn. Best not to get them and aim for healthier snacks really. We have to make an effort to eat healthier. J is a bit stuck in his ways (yes, at 17) and DOES not have a good or varied diet unfortuantely (me - feeing guilty blaming myself). Neil eats a bit healthier these days, but obviously neither of us is eating THAT healthy as we are NOT losing weight. And it is fair to say we too are very inactive. In truth as a family we are lazy (it pains me to say this).

Ah well, enough beating myself up over it all, I know what we need to do. I have the opportunity to go along with R to the MEND programme and learn some stuff myself. I want to be healthier, for my diabetes to be better etc - and it's up to me to do something about it.

Just gone 10pm and time for bed, well, am going to read for a while. Feel I did ok food wise today, not easy as we don't have a lot in. It IS very difficult to eat healthily when you are lacking in ££££. R did well also.
Watched The Diets That Time Forgot and really enjoyed it. I also watched How To Look Good Naked, I love this programme. Wish I felt better about how I look.

Wed 9th April 2008

Thanks to Kate for listening to me moan on the phone to her for about half an hour!!! I feel better now!!!!!
Ok morning in work. R is going to a school friends house for tea so I don't have to go pick her up today. J has friends coming round to do some recording. I have wizzed round the house doing a quicky tidy up and waving round of the airfreshner. Doing ok so far today on eating
Look at me in 1971 (hehe) I was 8 and here I am again in1974 my first year in High School. Here I am (far left) in 1983 with my sisters on holiday in Malta. Here I am in 1984 in Portugal. I like looking back at old pictures, shall have to have a look in mum and dads to see if there any more around.

 Thur 10th April

Ok day at work. After work I went with R to the high school for the MEND programme. SHe really enjoyed it today, the parents had a chance to ask queations/chat whilst the kids did some fun exercise, which R DID really enjoy.
For tea I had pork stir fry with leeks, tomatos, cabbage, and celery (R and Neil had Thai fishcakes with spicey black pepper potato wedges, I gave R some of my veg but she did not want to try it (I'll keep trying)! She does like carrots and will eat cauliflower and occasionally sprouts (with other stuff). I would like to widen her tastes and get her to see JUST how yummy food can be - fresh food. I think I'll have to get looking online for ways of making things with veg in them (in disguise) for J and R to eat.
R and I got a lift to the village after MEND and then walked home from there (about 1 mile). I said next time (Monday) we shall walk their and ALL the way home.

Friday 11th April

6.30am, time to get up. Put a stew (veg) on low last night and forgot to turn it off so woke up to burnt food smell and one very black pan. We were lucky it did not catch fire.
Neil has to go into work today (he normally works from home on a Friday). J and R in school, me in work - at least it's Friday!

Sat 12th April

Was just about to launch into a long moan about diet and lack of exercise and how I hate Saturdays - moan and moan and more moaning but I just read Janeys blog and I don't want to do that now (moan etc). Difficult to put into words.........................

Had a nice lie in. We have all decided that we should get out for the day, or a few hours anyway haha but is difficult to agree! We need to go somewhere that doesn't cost any money too.

Some pics from our afternoon out at Norton Priory (Runcorn). We all enjoyed it there, unfortunately we were too late to go into the walled gardens, I would've loved to go in them so will have to go next time.

Sunday 13th April 2008

Today my friend Sue (who goes Line Dancing) is coming round, we are going to highlight each others hair. I think mine is a little too dark. I am glad we went out yesterday as it is raining today, though I do like walking in the rain as long as it is not cold - might try and get everyone out for a walk later!
