Monday 14th January 2008

Have decided I want my hair lighter again (as am not very fussed on the colour of it at the moment). Might go to hairdressers though (dunno)?

Did hop on scales this morning but refuse to talk about it.
We are going to see Paramore in Manchester at the end of the month, quite looking forward to it though do not know much of their stuff.

R and I are going to the gym tonight (I have told her though not to 'Whoo Hoo' when 'boy band lookalike' is nearby). Honestly she is too young for a crush (though she says she is doing it for me - as she thinks I have the 'crush'!!!!

NEW PLAN

1.Stop whinging about weight
2.Go to gym as often as can and use treadmill @ home as often as can
3. Eat as healthily as can

R and I did not go to the gym (damn, kids). But whatever. I did all of 10 minutes on the treadmill (wow). Have decided that Wed's and Fridays and weekends are best for R and I to go to gym (as she has swimming on Mondays). I can go on Mondays on my own though (as have day off).

Other than blitzing bedroom and meeting J at lunchtime, did nothing much else today. Work tomorrow (blah).

Me in 1983!!!!

 

Work ok, nothing exciting.Was v lazy tonight and did not go on treadmill. Am aiming to ACTUALLY get up in the morning WHEN the ALARM goes off at 6am and do at least half an hour on the treadmill. (haha!)
Work half day tomorrow, then gym after school, then I have a line dance party in the evening which means I will be dancing from 7pm till at least 10.30pm

Am thinking more and more about my up and coming trip to America. I am So looking forward to it. The only view I have of American life is from tv of course, so I can only think what it is like from that. I am eternally grateful to Rachel for letting me stay at her house and cannot wait to meet her in person (she is one of the nicest people I know) I remember when she sent me the BIGGEST box of American type sweets (candies) - it took me and the family AGES (ok not quite) to eat them.

Am a teensey bit anxious since I have not actually been on an airplane since 1983 (when going to Portugal with mum and dad)................but on the other hand, I am so excited too. And although I'll miss Neil and the kids I am looking forward to going on my own. Though kids are hoping I take NO clothes over (empty suitcase) so can bring loads of stuff back (ie Ipods and other stuff).

Wednesday 16th January Did I get up at 6am? Nah. I seriously thought about it, but pressed snooze on the clock instead.
Work ok. R has a friend round after school (she wanted this instead of the gym). SO we promised each other we WILL go to the gym Friday and at the weekend. I have the line dance party tonight.

Thur 17th Jan 2008

Did 2 and a half hours dancing last night, there was party food but I ate only savoury and avoided the sweets stuff. Flippin heck it was hot dancing (as in too hot in the hall).

I SO wanted to do half hr on treadmill at 6am this morning and I SO didn't want to get up - SO I didn't (well, except at last minute when had to get up for work. Was in work by 7.50am (finished at 5pm)

One day, one day I will do it, I will actually get up and go on the treadmill before I go to work.

A few people in work have said "Cathy, have you given up dieting" - "Are you not on a diet anymore"
YES I know that's how it looks (I look). EVERYONE is on a diet at work. Weitwatchers, R Conley, SLimming World, The Eat 2 Dowls of Cereal a Day Diet (has anyone tried this? Does it work?

Friday 18th Jan Went dancing with Sue (friend frm Linedancing). Went in her car to T.Hough as per usual on a Fri night. Did 2 hrs dancing.
Came out of the hall and as we walked to the car we saw that the car next to Sue's was touching her car and that car was right against the next in line and the next. I recall Sue saying "How did that car get in there?" (get parked in there, THAT close) - then we saw the amnulamce.
2 of the ladies from dancing had left just before the end. Their car had been on the end (behind Pats, who's car was behind ours). A car had come down the road (at fast speed) and smashed into the back of the ladies car, smashing them into Pats car, smashing Pats car into ours.
Another ambulance came (blue flashing lights everywhere). They police arrived (2 cars) and called it a 4RTC (4 road traffic collision). I am so glad the 2 ladies (won't name them) were not hurt, though one lady had a cut lip. The couple (young couple) in the car that went into the back of the others were also fine (bumps bruises I think and they did not go into hospital). The ambulances eventually went. The 2 police cars stayed to take statements and help people move their cars to see what damage was. Sue's car came off lightest with a small bump.
All I can say is I am so thankful no one was seriously hurt.

Sat 19th January

Went round shops in the afternoon, dismal rainy day but not too cold. Got a nice top and skirt for £5. We all watched a film late afternoon and am now thinking about going on treadmill....dunno? Am also thinking of doing the 2 bowls of cereal a day diet for 2 weeks in order to kick start diet/weight loss. Not sure? Maybe.

I still keep coming back to the thinking that if I just exercised more and ate generally healthier then the weight would come off. I know really I don't need any faddy diets or shakes or crap like that..........but....................

 

Sunday 20th Jan 2008

Well has the cereal for breakfast - well, brunch to be exact as had long lie in as slept very very badly last night and woke up So tired and achey and feeling crappy. Enjoyed my 45 grms of shredded wheat bite size with skim milk. Is a good job I was not starving hungry isn't it. Am in the middle of cooking a nice leek and potato soup for tea.
R made the yummiest chocolate cake early afternoon (as you can see we did not get to the gym as I still felt very crappy). I helped her make the cake and was so so good and did not have one nibble or lick.
Not the most exciting of weekends.

Not too bad today as far as eating goes. HAve avoided silly eating (ok ok apart from small piece of chocolate cake! and it WAS a small piece). So what did I have today
Bfast - Cereal and skim milk
Anoon - some almonds
Tea - Leek and potato soup and a piece of cake

AND - I managed to fo 30 minutes on the treadmill YIPPEEEEEEE
