Monday 30th July 2007

Weight - 9 st 13 lbs
( 139 lbs)
Loss - 1 lb

I have not braved the scales yet..I will, shortly!
Neil and I have been watching the first series of 24 and getting into it, we are near the end of it now and will rent the 2nd one and so on.Not a great deal planned for the day other than taking R swimming hopefully. J is off to cinema again, Neil is in work.

Just telephoned the pool to see what their opening times and and a snotty woman said "I'm sorry we have pool closeure at the moment and are not open, we may be open by next weekend". I was about to enquire why was the pool closed, but she put the phone down. Damn.
Neil's mum and dad said they are probably going to West Kirby later and we can have a walk round the lake with them.

Yippeeee I lost another lb. And I am now (just about) in the 9 st's - phew. That makes me want to have a really good week. Not many weigh-ins till our holiday.

Am actually feeling quite positive about losing these lbs at the moment. Mainly cos for the last several weeks I have not done the usual gain one lose one gain one lose one. I have not lost lots but am managing to lose it slowly and not particularly gain.

I know, I ramble on and on too much about my weight - but, whatever I don't care - it's my weight and I'll ramble on about it if I want to!
Got a lovely card from my friend Rachel in Kentucky today, a beautiful card saying how sorry she is about Blackie - that was so kind of her. Thank you Rachel - you cab see Rachel here at
Sliding Through Life

The lake at West Kirby where we went for a walk round this afternoon. It was a bit windy but nice and sunny.
R at the lake
Neil's mum and dad with R in the background
Still Monday - we had a really nice walk round the lake and then called at the local Morrisons for a coffee (I had an egg sandwich for lunch). R had an ice-cream and it was one of those whippy ones (yum yum) but I did not have one).
Tuesday 31st July

R and I made glow worm cookies this morning (from her Rhoal Dahl (or however you spell it) cookbook. I had 2, but they were teeney weeny ones! Green and red icing!

Should make an effort and go out but can't think where to go? J is off to a band practise in a short while. The weather is really nice out so that is why I feel we should go out.

We have decided to go to W est Kirby again with Neil's mum and dad and yep, walk round the lake again (3pm)....it's good exercise and it's nice out.

Some pics from our Tuesday afternoon (today) out at West Kirby again
Me looking actually, not too fat!!!!
R on the beach bit and a great sun shot over the water
Me walking around lake (taken by R)
R and I, we had such a nice time (thank you to Bill and Marie who took us there). Dunno how I managed it but I resisted a Mr Whippy ice-cream again!!!!
Same sun shot (altered with photoshop)

11pm - feel really pukey - yuck..........OMG hope this goes away by morning.

Still felt yuck this morning, think it must be a bit of a tummy bug? Work ok, just about. Can't be bothered doing much but am going to walk with R to the shops down the road - am also doing 2 hours dancing tonight.
Don't have any good books to read at the moment. I love to have a good book to get stuck into, the sort you cannot put down. I am reading trashy chick lit at the moment - usually romantic ones - ie girl goes on holiday, meets gorgeous man, has problems, it works out in end - that sort of thing!
I like books that make you daydream - ones you can escape into.

Some pics of Brixham holiday park where we are going on holiday - we cannot wait!
R and I walked to the shops, but silly me bought some sweeties, ok, only a small bag but what a waste of calories! Licquorice allsorts! (How do you spell that?)

Went dancing tonight, did 2 hours. I am really enjoying the dancing at the moment, though next week is the last week of dancing till September (teacher on holiday). Perhaps I can do some walking each day - get R out and even J?

Have been very good on calories today I am glad to say. It is getting easier, though I still do silly things and don't alway smake good food choices - old habits die hard.

Thursday 2 August

Lovely and sunny out.

(3pm) Feel I ought to get out while the sun is shining, though shifting the kids is proving next to impossible!. R has her head stuck into her Harry Potter book and J is waiting for a phone call from friends.

Another little pic of Brixham.!
How fast can I lose like 10 lbs? 2 week???? I wish!! But......whatever I weigh when we get to go on holiday, I am not going to moan and I am just going to have a nice time (also, whatever the weather)!

R in a total grump cos J won't come out with us for a walk to T Hill (rocks area).....but have persuaded Neil to go when he gets in (7pm) from work - so we are all going to go then for an hour or so - AH happy families!

Mmmm am in a painting mood again. Yep....the front room is currently cream with 'claret' coloured alcoves....now, in the past they have been lemom...I like yellows and lemons the most I think. I love pretty pastels and pale colours whereas Neil prefers bolds and bright colours. I think if the house were larger and had BIG rooms then bright bold colours would be nice (not too dark though). But, the house is pretty small and pale colours are better. SO
what colour should I paint?
Perhaps I should wait till the kids go back to school then I can paint away to my hearts content!!!

Neil, J and kids earlier tonight (Thur 2nd Aug)
Me, J and R, doing some rock climbing! - it was actually quite high, Neil took this pic from a ledge halfway up the rock
R and I at the bottmm of the rock deciding what is the easiest way up.
J and I
We did about an hour and a half of walking/climbing, we all really enjoyed it....would've stayed out longer but we did not want to be up there when it got darker. Actually it was really sunny and just nice, this is not far from where we live, we should go here more often - it is quite a large place.
Did well on cal counting today and am pleased we went for that walk . Now if we could just do this more often it would most definately help us all get fitter and, well, relax more.
Friday 3rd August Thought today would never end (well, the work part of it anyway). Am going dancing tonight, got my pink frilly skirt on (in that kinda mood!)............looks aweeney bit silly but who cares!
Have eaten very littla today, could not be bothered really...ha, I expect the munchies to strike about midnight tonight!!!!
Did 2 hours dancing - had some win in evening (even though I said I wasn't going to)....managed to avoid the munchies!
Saturday 4th August Am going to a line dance evening tonight in a local village (Thornton Hough), it's £8 a ticket (for charity - not sure which one). 6 till 11pm, so lots of dancing then! Luckily am being picked up by Sue who also goes to the classes, there's 4 of us going from our regular Wed/Friday class.
R and I were going to stay in mum n dads but we are going to do that tomorrow instead.
Sunday 5th August Enjoyed last night...it was actually a country and western music festival (with dancing). Did not dance though (my friends did)...dunno really, was a bit too...shy? (Not quite the word). We took nibbles and soft drinks though there was a bar (only drank pop though). Lots of stalls, we looked round. Lots of Mmmmm...well a few anyway, sexy men in black long tailed suits (white shirts, black tie and yep....black cowboy hats)!! So, the others danced, I people watched!!!!!!
Very nice atomophere.
Well, off to mum and dads this morning for a night or 2 (in work on Wed/Thur/Fri).
