Monday 3rd Aug to Sunday 9th August 2009

Tuesday 4th August

We had a GREAT time in Scarborough, I really enjoyed it. Here are some pics.
When we got there Thursday afternoon there was a storm (rain and hail and thunder). We put all our bags in the room of the hotel and went for a walk!!!!
The sun did come out and we dried off. This was taken from the path near the hotel looking down onto the beach.
Me in the rain!
In front of the hotels, not far from where we were staying.
We took a nice walk to the town centre via the castle - from North Bay to the South Bay
Me on the Friday morning. After a yummy cooked breakfast on the Friday morning we went straight out, it was warm and sunny. We then hopped on the little opentop bus and went to the South Bay for the day.
R and I on the bus
The bus drove right round the bay. On the 1st night we walked it back along this route to the hotel (long way!)
We went down to the harbour, it was so nice. We strolled along the front. We spotted this place that you could go in Themed attraction from 'chiller' movies - so we went in! I thought R would be so scared - I was but it was fun!
This is it!
By the harbour
Peasholm Park not far from out hotel. We wandered round here, it was so nice.
P Park
In the park!
It was so pretty

We spent all day in Svarborough on the Friday and had lunch in a nice cafe. We had a ride in the cliff top tram and did loads of shopping. We stayed untill quite late then caught the bus back (open top one)
Here it is
After breakfast on Saturday morning we set off and went to Whitby for the day which was nice (but rainy)! In Whitby we had a boat trip round the bay.
Me on the boat in Whitby!

Took J out to one of his fave eating places (OK Diner) when we got back, here's a pic of him there trying to escape getting his pic taken!
Hehe!!!!!!!

Sunday morning I went to Flint to stay for one night. Went to my sisters to see her new little doggie (Max). He is so cute

Here is my sisters little dog Max. I would've taken more pics but my camera broke.
Stayed in Teresas for a few hours, went shopping with her and my 2 neices and then went back to mums, then over to my other sisters for a few hours (her and I spent ages moaning about our weight!)
Monday morning Neil and the kids came for me and we went to Llandudno for the day, it was ok there but I do think it is looking a bit grottier lately. It drizzled all day so we never went for a walk up the Great Orme.
Had lunch in a nice cafe called Tiffanys.
This is where we had lunch

No plans for today, except maybe some tidying up. J has another friving lesson (this is about his 6th) later. We are planning on going to Liverpool tomorrow (me Neil and J and R) and going on the ferry and going to the museums there.

Still Tuesday 4th August
Did very little today but in the evening Neil R and I drove to West Kirby and went for a walk round the lake. Here are the pics.
It was so nice walking round the lake tonight, we should do this more often
Neil and R walking ahead of me
We parked over the other side. Not sure what the distance is for a complete walk around the lake (will have to look it up online)
This pic came out this colour!

Tomorrow as I said we are all off to Liverpool for the day which should be nice.

Just looked up the distance around the Lake - it is 2 miles, so we did a 2 mile walk tonight (not far at all).

 Wed 5th August

Meant to get up early, but did not get up till 8.30am. We are all getting ready to go out. J has been applying for a lot of jobs and gettung his CV out there which is good. I know how difficult it is to get a part-time job and he goes back to college at the end of August but he is looking all the time. One of the main jobs that he has applied for is at the 02 Arena in Liverpool and he really wants a job there, he said it would do during college too as a lot of it is evening work and Liverpool is easy for him to get one (catch the bus at the end of our road). I hope he gets an interview at the 02. He's got a sort of job interview on Friday for some temp paid work at a factory, the person who phoned him this morning said for J to come along to see if he might like the work (is a bit meanial ) and to decide when he wants to work (days etc).

Neil walking ahead at the Albert Dock Liverpool
Me in the Wartime House on the Albert Dock
Neil and the kids in a nice cafe on the Albert Dock - very relaxing.
Neil and kids on the ferry going back from Liverpool, it was very hot.
J walking by the Liver buildings on the way back to the ferry at Liverpool.

We had a nice time over in Liverpool, we went in the Maritime Museum and walked all around the Albert Dock.

Tonight I am going to a buffet at the hospital where I work (a thank you buffet arranged by, well not sure actually, all I know is I got an invite (am going with Elaine who I work with). As long as I am not back home too late, we (Me Neil and the kids) are going to go for a walk along Parkgate later. The buffet starts at 6pm.

 Thursday 6th August 2009

The buffet was nice last night, lasted about and hour and a half.
After I got home at about 8pm we went for a drive to Parkgate and had a little walk then went to Heswall for chips!
Today we dropped J off in Birkenhead where he met his girlfriend to go to the cinema, she looked so pleased to see him (they don't get to meet up often). Then Neil, me and R went on to Nantwich for the afternoon. Had a nice walk round there>One of the streets in NAntwich (ignore the date on the pics, it was set wrong on the camers, my camera came this morning - Ebay!)
R and I outside Nantwich church
Lots of flowers in and around Nantwich
Me in the town square.

J said he will come swimming with us this weekend (yeah!). HE is in this factory tomorrow, hope it goes well. Also he has applied for some research study at Manchester Uni and they phoned him today (he was out unfortunately) so he has to call them back). If he gets on the study he'll get ££ for it - I think he has to do 2 or 3 visits to the Uni over a period of several weeks, just short visits I think.

Another pic from today in Nantwich

Neil and R (again ignore date as is wrong on camera)

 Friday 7th August

Neil ran J to the factory earlier, I think he is there all day. It is so nice and sunny out, wonder what we can do today?

Me when I was little and now!!!!!!

We went to West Kirby, that was nice, we walked round the little park and then went by the lake.
R and Neil walking along in West Kirby
OK, OK I will DEFINATELY start the DIET tomorrow!!!!!!!

I went dancing in the evening for 2 hours and really enjoyed it, it is the last dance class for the summer next Wed, till September,

Bought this lovely dress today at a charity shop for £4.50 and it still has the tags on it. Pity really that it doesn't quite fit - so this is something I can aim for, to fit into this dress, It is a size 16 and I would say I was a 16 but well, obviously not in this case (damn). I think I need to lose at least 14 lbs to get the dress to fit!
Isn't it gorgeous and I will get into it, I will. It's a strapless dress and it has a net underskirt in apple green.
I also bought this top/dress for £3.50.

J enjoyed his 1st day at work, he is back there on Monday.

 Sat 8th August

Happy birthday to my sister Cheryl!

It is so nice and sunny out. Wondering what we are doing today? See if we can all agree on something.

J and R and I went swimming in the morning, got to the swimming baths at 10am and had just over an hour in the pool - it was nice and not too crowded. Neil had waited in the car (reading) and then we drove to Blakemere craft centre in Cheshire and spent a few hours round there. There was a continental food market on which was nice, Neil had german sausage, we had plain old stea burgers. There was lots of interesting stalls also a cookery demonstration going on. J and I went to see a falconry display which was great. We wandered round all the craft shops then headed home - all knackered!

J in the cafe at Blakemere eating spinach soup
Ok I was eating a burger!

A picture I bought at the antiques fari at Blakemere, it just appealed to Neil and I.

 Sunday 9th August

Another warm day out there (it's now 11am), not everyone is up yet (how lazy!) I can't bear wasting the day. I got up earlier and had breakfast. J is up, he rarely sleeps in.
We are wandering what to do today? I want us to get out. This is Neils last day off work (hols) and he is back to work tomorrow.

J is tidying (in a fashion) his room and also going to paint it (ermmm....poppy red)!

We all went for a walk round West Kirby Lake again tonight which was nice. Neil and I shared a bag of chips! And...and I said no to an ice-cream, though had big lick of Neils ice-cream!
We are in the middle of having a de-junking of the bedrooms. I duuno how many bin sacks have been taken to the tip today (most of them from Jonathans room).
HAve not been THAT good on diet really, not been following SW but am still going to do so at some point. Have been doing some walking which is good. We have moved the treadmill in the front room so it faces the telly, so now we can go on it, yes???????

J is in work tomorrow as is Neil. R and I have the day to ourselves, not sure what we are doing yet, we may go to a park and meet a friend and her daughters.
