Monday 29th June to Sunday 5th July 2009

Monday 29th June

Went to the Dr's and he gave me an antibiotic, saying it was pleurisey (however you spell it!). I have to go back in 10 days, if cough (chest pain) not gone, then have to go for an x-ray.

Neil and I went with R to her new high school tonight, we got to sit in the hall and have a talk by the headmistress and R got to go along to a classroom with her new form tutor and new classmates.I am soooooooo excited about R going to high school, it seems like a fantastic school (it's an all girls school). We got to see the uniform (navy blazer, navy skirt, white blouse and the pe kit is red skirt (they can wear red shorts for things like trampolining, navy jogging pants for outside when cold) and white polo shirt.
R said she really likes her new form tutor and made a few new friends already. SHe has a day at the school next week (Induction Day) which she is really looking forward to.

It's just been too hot to do any exericise today. I was going to do half an hour on the wii but I think I'll leave that till the morning.

 Tuesday 30th June

Work was fine today. I did manage half an hour on the wii fit this morning before work which I am pleased about. I don't think I have been very good or very bad on food this last week but apart from the weekend I have done the wii fit every day.

I think that is what I need to do, up the exercise and watch what I am eating.

The kids really want a little doggie. I would love one but it would be on it's own for 2 whole days a week (and a half day). We've all been thinking about it for a while. I dunno, I just dunno?????

 Wed 1st July

Phew it's hot!!!!!!It hasn't been particularly sunny, but very hot.
R is in a school play tonight so we have to go back there at 6pm. I am having a chicken stir fry for tea (trying to eat less carbs in the evening)....will have some strawberries too.

Only managed 1 hour of dancing tonight as it was too hot, I decided to come home. Was a bit naughty in evening and had a pop tart and some other nibbles - dunno why cos I wasn't hungry.

 Friday 3rd July

Weight last time on work scales - 10 st 4 lbs (144 lbs)

Work was ok, hot. Got weighed this morning and unfortunately have gained a lb (damn). Ah well, got to keep trying.

J has gone with his girlfriend J to see Elliot Minor tonight in Liverpool (I bet J and J get right to the front!)

 Sat 4th July

OOohhhh, almost time for the Race For Life which is tomorrow - have almost raised the full amount I wanted to, so if anyone out there feels likehelping me make the target - That would be SO KIND and a HUGE thank you to all those who have sponsored me so far.
I have my shorts ready and my pink t-shirt. I believe it is going to rain - but I'll be there whatever and doing my best (ie running as often as I can) for I am not a runner at all but I am sure will get carried away with all the atmosphere and will totally enjoy it. What a fun way to raise money for such a good cause (cancer). I think it is wonderful when so many women get together and do this sort of thing and many many have a story to tell and SO many people have lost loved ones to cancer and are battling cancer but thankfully many are survivors (YEAH). It feel snice to be a part of something like this and I know tons of people who have done the Race For Life and going on to do other races for life eg Janey (a bestest friend of mine).

Do you like the yellow top I got from Ebay the other day (new), isn't it gorgeous - hopefully I'll be able to wear it on some sunny day (or evening out)!

FANTASTIC DAY Sunday 5th July 2009

I did the Race FRor Life with Kathryn, Iris, Elaine and Rachel (from work). Anju, could not do the race as she had a problem with her leg and had to not do it at the last minute, so Rachel did it for her. Anju raised a most AMAZING amount for the Race, over £500. She is so great and I wish she had been able to do the race but it was not to be today. She herself has had a kidney removed from kidney cancer and is doing so well and looks fantastic. She is the loveliest manager anyone could ever want.

It was FANTASTIC. I did it in 60 minutes......I walked as fast as I could and even managed some light jogging - with Iris's help! It was hot and sunny to be gin with and then we were within 200 yards of the finish line and OMG the rain was torrential!!!!!!!!!

The atmosphere was bloody amazing, there were 5100 women doing the race. The 'man' from Nivea took our pic at the end so we may end up on the Nivea web page, there are pics from the different race for life races.

of my sisters did the race too, I did not see them during it but saw them at the end when we were waiting for Neil to pick us up. Well done to Katie and Amie (my neice age 11 and 8 ) who did the race with their mum Teresa (my sister) and little Eve (neice age 6) who also did the race with her mum Cheryl (my sister). Cheryl had to do the race carrying Eve a lot of the way!!!! Pics to follow!

There is still time to sponsor me if you would like to, don't worry if you can't or wish not to, but all and every little bit helps it really does. It was a bit sad reading all the little notes on people's backs, of all these people who have lost their battle with cancer but I am sure there are many who are survivors and that is what we need the money for - we need to work really hard at finding a cure and beter drugs etc and get people surviving and winning and being here not dying prematurely and painfully.

The warm up at the beginning of the race was so much fun (if very hot!), we did a dance with the Nivea Boys to Reah Up For The Stars (S Club 7) and we did an aerobics warm up which was fun, the boys on stage did hoola-hooping!!!!! Sexy!!!!!!

Me (middle) and Iris and Elaine at my house before we set off to do the Race For Life

All of us ready to do the Race For Life (I work with this lot!!!)

Kathryn and Anju (who was not able to do the race today, but it was fantastic that she was there at the beginning of the Race.

Me and RAchel at the start before the warm-up

Iris, RAchel and Elaine soaking wet, it was pouring down with rain (we had completed the race here)

Soaking wet but SO happy to have completed the Race, it was such fun. See we had our medals on !

7pm - Persuaded Neil and the kids we really ought to go somewhere for a walk! So we drove to West Kirby and then went for a half hour walk around by the Lake and back to the car via the shops.....and it piddled down! So that's twice today I got wet!

Earlier I made a Gillian McKeith beetroot soup - now I SO love beetroot - but YUCK, the soup was so YUCK.
I am going to aim to eat more fresh foods instead of processed ones and I am aiming to avoid sugar/sugary foods. I need to think about food as something healthy and good to eat - good for me/us as a family.
