Monday 16th March to Sunday 22nd March

This week I am going to eat 3 healthy meals a day (with healthy snacks) and do 45 minutes on the treadmill every day

Monday 16th March
Hopped on the scales this morning - no change.
How did I do last week? Well I managed the treadmill every day (apart from Friday night when I went and did 2 hours dancing. I did okish on the eating - there were a few unhealthy snacks in there (I wanted a treat but as per usual overdid it on those occasions - eg bought some buy one get one free boxes of French Fancies, they were very nice and I haven't had these in AGES - but should not have eaten 4 (or was it 5?) of them. Also ermmm......had some wine Sat night and I intended to cut this out - I WILL cut this out. Last night I had some . So yep it sounds like I have been REALLY bad, but I haven't I have been totting up the calories each day and on the whole have really been having just over what I needed to lose weight - hence the weight has stayed the same. It does not take much does it.
I need to cut out the 'treats'. Before anyone out there says "you can't eat that (see above) stuff, you're diabetic", well I can. I can safety incorporate anything I want into my diet on the DAFNE regime, it's just that for me, I should try not to as I want to lose weight - I am about 28 lbs overweight which OK isn't a massive amount but it's all round my middle (not good) and does not do my rheumatoid arthritis any favours. Ok, mini moan/gripe over!

Neil has gone to work and J to college. R is not feeling too good so she is off school. I bought a tonic for her, she is looking very washed out lately. She did not feel well over the weekend, it doesn't seem to be anything specific.

Done 20 minutes on the treadmill, just another 25 to go!

WHEY HEY I did 45 minutes on the treadmill............
Neil is on the treadmill at the moment, I nagged him so he's gone on it!

So how did today go?
Am v happy cos did 45 mins on treadmill, yes I did!
Ohhhh food......how did I do?
Well
Breakfast - 2 weetabix and skim milk
Lunch - Spinach and carrot soup (nicer than it sounds)
Anoon - Diet yogurt and glass of skim milk
Tea - Quorn and mixed veg stir fry
Eve - ok bit baaaad here......1 hash brown and a slice of bread and butter (I was cooking them for Neil and I just had to have some), at least I didn't eat any of the chicken burger!
That's it and it's 20 past 10pm and I have no intention of eating ANYTHING else.

 TUESDAY 17 th March

Went to a new line dance class tonight, well new to me, it's been going for ages. I TOTALLY enjoyed it, we learnt plenty of new dances, it was great fun and people there were nice. The teacher Graham was nice too, very welcoming and taught the dances well and even when I went wrong it didn't matter! Sue and Sonia who I often go ancing with on a Wed and Fri began going to this Tuesday one a few weeks ago. I shall definately go again. I did just over 2 hours dancing tonight - did not do treadmill though.
Work was ok today. Elaine and I (we job share) went for lunch in the big canteen in the hospital, I had the most FAB salad (beetroot, tuna, egg, mixed beans, tomato, coleslaw and a wholemeal roll. YUMMY!
Had an omelete for tea tonight and a small bowl of Neopolitan (is that hw you spell it?) ice-cream (which is always strawberry/chocolate and vanilla flavoured) - I didn't have too much.

Feel I have been v v good today!

 Wed 18th March

Work was ok. It is so nice and sunny out. Am going to enjoy walking to school to get R later. Am going to do another 2 hours dancing tonight, poor Neil, feel a bit mean on him....but I so need the exercise.

5.45pm - feel a bit pukey, think I may have caught what R was off school with. Yuck, feel yuck. Can't be sick though cos I gotta go into work tomorrow cos my eye appointment is at 10am. Am akso going to go dancing, I want to go dancing tonight. Arghghghghgghhghhg....hope this sicky feeling goes away ASAP.
Here's a link to what I am having done tomorrow LINK, I see the consultant afterwards too. I am in work the rest of the day, just on Admin in the afternoon.

 Thursday 19th March

7.30am, Neil and R have gone (work, school) and J is about to go too. Waiting for my lift at 8am. Is a bit foggy out today. I did 2 hours dancing last night which I really enjoyed, am going to do treadmill tonight.

Same old thing - work-diet-exercise-kids-hubby-house blah blah (in no particular order). OMG am so looking forward to stress free (HUH?) holiday on Lake District plus as part of the rental we have passes to a nearby (4 miles away) leisure village which has a FAB pool, jacuzzi and sauna and gym - I can see what I will want to be doing EVERY day, also J and R love the pool when we are on holiday, when we went to Brixham the year before last they both looked like prunes as they spent EVERY day in the pool!

J is not fussed on going swimming here (but would go if all his friends went) but always goes when we are on holiday and he is a pretty good swimmer as is R now.

Plus we are SO going to do LOADS of walking (kids WILL enjoy it! - generally with them, if you can get them out there in the 1st place, they will walk for miles with very little complaint).

This is where we are staying

10pm - Had my fluoroscein done this morning - well almost! They could not get into a decent vein (had 4 goes), so off I was trotted to theatre for one of the Dr's there to cannulate me which he easily did (wrist). Trotted back to eye dept and sat down by the camera ready for the dye to be injected into the cannula tube. Hmmmmm.......the nurse pressed the plunger and ok for a second then SPLAT - fluoroscein everywhere, EVERYWHERE. This bright yellow orange fluorescent dye ALL over the place. All over me, the nurse, the floor, the camera and even got the photographer! Errr...ok so that vein did not work!

Anyway to cut a long story short - saw the consultant who said how did I feel about having laser done today - so (must say I was errrr.....slightly scared)....off we went and hey presto he lasered my right eye - Now hopefully the eye will settle down, the fluid will go and all will be controlled (the retinopathy) Have to be seen in 3 months. Felt most sorry for myself just before going and getting the laser treatment done (at that point could've done with someone holding my hand - am such a baby!), but it was fine, I never felt a thing.

My arm, still a bit yellow from the splattered dye and a weeney bruise. Rest of day in work was fine.

Decided not to go on treadmill tonight - too tired - too not in mood for it.

 Friday 20th March

6.30am...just had nice cup of tea, washed my hair and ready to get ready for work. Think I will get dropped off half way this morning and walk from there. After work tonight am going with R to spend 2 nights in mum n dads.
OOOhhhhhh feel skinnier this morning which is nice (am not skinny but is nice not to wake up to a FAT day!)

7pm - decided not to go to mum n dads tonight as feel yuckish and anyway Neil had his mini surgery today (large morel removal which required several injections). Anyway we got a chinese takeaway and are all (me Neil and the kids) are going to watch a film (if we can all agree on one!)

Work was fine today, did not walk half way there but did go for short briskish walk at lunchtime, it was so nice out. There's lovely places to walk round the hospital, bit lonely to go on your own though, so I went with Rachel (work with). Must go walking at lunchtime more often as is good exercise and make you feel better. Can I muster the energy up to go on treadmill tonight????????

 Sunday 22nd March
SPent last night in mum n dads. Came home about 10am today. MAde a dinner for Neil's mum n dad took that up there. Went back up there about 5.30pm. Came home. R spent almost 2 hours doing the WII Fit today which is brill. J is on it all the time too, we only got it the other day! They both like the WII Fit. Looking forward to having a decent go myself!
