Monday 23rd Feb
We had the nicest weekend in South Wales. It took us about 4 hours to
get down there. On the way we stopped at a little chef for late breakfast
which was nice. We managed to find where Steve lives ok. We sat in the
house for a while, cup of tea etc then we went to Abergevenney for the
day. The weather was quite nice. We went round all the shops with Steve
and then for a coffee. Then we went to Merthyr to find the travel lodge,
we booked in and sat there chatting for a time then we decided to go for
a meal. So we went to the Frankie and Bennys nearby - had a nice meal
there. Then we went to Steve's house (where he lives with his mum n dad
who are very nice - we stayed there for a few hours then we (Neil, R and
I) went back to the travel lodge. Sunday morning we went to a nearby Tesco's
for breakfast before heading home.
The weekend was relaxing and nice. Steve is a really nice bloke.

I didn't take tons of pics unfortunately.
MOnday again - Kids are back to school/college today. I am off to Neils
mum n dads as his mum is coming home for a few hours so the occ therapist
can see how she might do at home, then she has to go back to the home,
I don't think she will be in there much longer. I am back in work on Tuesday.
Monday night 11.15pm - time for bed, back
to work tomorrow. Braved the scales this morning - not good, not at all
good....damn. Ah well, new day tomorrow, time to do better. |
Wed
25th Feb
Ok day, am full of cold though which is a right pain. Am doing ok with
food, not particularly overeating at the moment, trying to be more careful
of what I am eating. Have decided that I am NOT going to 'diet', not going
to follow any particular diet, I don't want to do that anymore. Have not
done much exercise lately, so need to get going on that when am feeling
better.
That's about it really. Not very exciting.
Am thinking of doing The Race For Life 5k,
in our area it takes place on July 5th. My sister and her daughter (who
is R's age) did it last year. My sister has been training for it for some
time ready for this year - she even got her pic in the local paper cos
she is training with some olympic athlete that she knows who is doing
the race cos her mum has cancer. I assume my sister wants to be the fastest
she can, she does a lot of running.
One of the girls in work said she would like to do The Race For Life and
I am sure lots more there will be doing it (in work), so I'd like to do
it this year too. I am also going to do the Wirral Walk again in May -
the 15 mile walk which I did last year for the first time. R did very
well and managed just over 12 miles but had to stop cos she ahd a massive
blister on her foot, I was very proud of her. J has doe the walk several
times, often quite a few of his friends (girls/lads) do it too. Last year
he kept bumping into girls he knew and chatted to them while we walked
- he did 7 miles last year cos he was not feeling so great. I should think
he'll do it this year too - plus I'd like him to so I can walk with him
(unless he wants to go with several friends? R might do it this year too? |
Saturday 28th Feb
I hate weekends sometimes. This feels like it is going to be a crap one.
Think I'd rather be in work.
Neil and J are doing a band rehearsal tomorrow 11am till 3pm in Liverpool,
a full band rehearsal. The 1850 Project gig is coming up fast. The hall,
pa system and lighting are booked, J had been sending out invitations. He's
having panics about it cos he wants it to go off well. I have not seen the
full band rehersals but they'll take along the recorder tomorrow and I'll
watch that when they get home.
I know J and Neil and Tony will have fun on stage and that's the main thing,
that they enjoy it. Their
drummer Chris is a good drummer (J's cousin), hopefully he'll enjoy it too.
Got loads of tidying up to do today and then have to go up to Neils mum
n dads to do some cleaning there and hang some curtains for them in their
front room. Ah well, had better get moving!
Oh yeah am currently reading:
My
mom is so going to kill me if she finds out I'm turning into a vampire...
Okay, so technically she can't because I'm immortal.
Well, not yet. See, due to the worst case of mistaken identity with my
dark-side-loving twin sister at a Goth hangout called Club Fang, Magnus,
a vampire hottie, went for my innocent neck instead of hers. Now, if I
don't reverse it in time, Magnus will be my blood mate forever and I'm
doomed to be a blood-gulping, pasty, daylight-hating vampire. Believe
me, it seriously bites!
After the unfortunate slaying of the vampire leader,
it's up to me, my sister, and Magnus to find the one thing that can solve
my problem--the Holy Grail. No joke. I seriously hope I can get out of
this on time because, somehow, I scored the hottest prom date in my school,
the mouth-watering Jake Wilder. And I do NOT want to be a vampire for
the prom--let alone the rest of eternity.
R has just read this and the 2nd one Girls That Growl and wants the 3rd
one Stake That. As you can see she is very into Vampires! This series
of books has humour too and I am enjoying reading Boys That Bite (Silly
I know!). I would have loved to be a goth type girl when I was a teenager!

Sunday 1st March
Not a brill weekend for me, did very little. Well yesterday J and I cleaned
at Neils mum n dads. Today I went with Neil and his dad to see Neils mum
in the nursing home (she is coming home tomorrow).
J and Neil (and Chris and Tony) had full band practise today and J said
it was great - that they were all great - I am pleased for them. J said
Chris played really well (with vigour) and said it'll be brill on the
night if he plays like that. As far as I know he's a fab drummer, just
lacking in obvious enthusiasm, plus he rarely smiles - but then do drummers
smile?
Anyway, I know the night will go fine, I have no doubt of that.
Other than that a boring weekend for me. I wish we'd gone out for a walk,
R and I. But I was lazy and had a lie in. R just read all day and Neil
and J were out at rehearsal.
R gets the 11+ result this coming week - arghghghg! She sat the 11+ last
December I think it was. |
